The new Holmfirth Art & Music website is up and running
Holmfirth Art & Music
Holmfirth is home to a number of highly successful contemporary artists, sculptors, potters and photographers including some, such as Ashley Jackson, David Roberts, Jim Robison and Brendan Hesmondhalgh, who are highly regarded nationally and internationally. Holmfirth artWeek, held in July each year, is one of the largest public entry art exhibitions in England, and the Holmfirth Art Markets have become highly succesful bi-annual events. The third Holmfirth Art Auction was held in April 2010 at the North Light Gallery
The Holmfirth Musical Festival was founded in the 1940s, the Holmfirth Choral Society in the 1930s and the Holme Valley Brass Band Contest can trace its roots back to the 1920s. There has also been an annual Folk Festival in Holmfirth for over thirty years.
In 2008 the first Holmfirth Arts Festival was launched and 2010 sees the first Holmfirth Film Festival. To read more go to
