Holmfirth Artweek 2026 at Booth House Gallery

Celebrating 51 Years at Booth House

Booth House Gallery is proud to take part once again as a fringe venue. Founded in 1975 by Jim and Liz Robison, the gallery has been a fixture of the local arts community for more than half a century. Set in the hillside hamlet of Booth House, it remains Jim’s primary studio and a place where visitors can experience ceramics in a working environment shaped by landscape, material and long practice.

This year’s Artweek exhibition marks 51 years of making, teaching and collaboration. Jim is joined by a group of accomplished ceramicists who have studied or worked with him over the decades. Their work spans slab‑built forms, refined wheel‑thrown vessels and bold extruded pieces, each artist bringing a distinct approach to shape, surface and firing. Stoneware glazes, slips and textured finishes feature throughout, with pieces designed to be handled, used and enjoyed. A new large‑scale sculpture by Jim will form the centrepiece of the display.

Exhibiting artists:

  • Jim Robison
  • Nigel Hoyle
  • Moz Khokhar
  • Ian Marsh
  • Chris Jenkins

Booth House Gallery is signposted from Woodhead Road via Shaw Lane, or from Greenfield Road via Black Syke Lane. The venue is accessible, with a generous free car park reached through narrow lanes.

Opening times run daily from 10.00 to 16.00 throughout Artweek.

The preview takes place on Sunday 5 July, 13.00 to 16.00, with wine, soft drinks and nibbles.

Holmfirth Artweek runs from Sunday 5 July to Saturday 11 July 2026, bringing thousands of visitors into the Holme Valley to explore exhibitions, open studios and creative spaces. It’s one of the region’s largest volunteer‑run arts events, raising significant funds for Macmillan Cancer Support each year. Alongside the main exhibition in Holmfirth Civic Hall, dozens of fringe venues open their doors, offering a chance to see work in the places where it’s made.
